About Us
Hi! I’m Emily, founder of Muddy Buddies. I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Salve Regina University and I am a licensed teacher in the state of Massachusetts. I am also a certified lead preschool teacher through the department of Early Education and Care. I have worked with children for over 20 years in a variety of settings including private and public schools, summer camp, volunteer work, teaching outdoors as a Tinkergarten leader, and programs supporting children with disabilities. I am passionate about all things early childhood and continuously participate in professional development courses related to child development, nature-based learning, and the power of play. I am an advocate for children’s right to play and a member of the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools. My husband and I both grew up in East Longmeadow and we are grateful to be able to raise our two children, here in our hometown. I am so excited to provide outdoor play opportunities for children and families in our community. I hope to see you at Muddy Buddies!
Hello! I’m Brie, assistant teacher at Muddy Buddies. Emily and I have been friends since childhood. I am married and have two teenage children. I am also a part time cardiac nurse at Baystate Medical Center. I am very excited to be involved with the Muddy Buddies program. As a mom and auntie, I’ve learned that it is a very rewarding experience to allow our children time to engage in outdoor play. It’s wonderful to see our children use their imaginations freely. I look forward to many “Muddy Buddy” adventures!
